ST JEROME’S FOOTSCRAY FESTIVAL 2010
Rachel Short
The outlook for next year’s Laneway Festival is that of a complete location revamp, and a stellar line-up of musicians. In what has been described as the ‘most exciting line-up’ that the St.Jerome’s Laneway Festival has seen, the 2010 collection includes:
Echo & The Bunnymen, Florence and The Machine, Black Lips, The XX, Daniel Johnston, Sarah Blasko, N.A.S.A, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Hockey, Dappled Cities, Mumford and Sons, Radio Clit, The Very Best, Wild Beasts, Whitely, The Middle East, Kid Sam and the Dirty Three (Melbourne only).
The announcement came with the confirmation that the 2010 Laneway Festival will be held at the Footscray Arts Centre. A possible attempt to gentrify a Melbourne quarter with cool kids, cultivated and ready to be harvested by the Jerome empire. The fields of Footscray will become fruitful and abundant with milk crates, photocopied stencil art and ridiculous shorts.
