Quite a few of us partake in some sort of photography training during our high school days. Taking photos of our friends, what could be better? They didn’t tell us we had to write about it. They didn’t tell us how potent the developing chemicals would be. They didn’t tell us how expensive the photographic paper was and how useless it became after you exposed it to the sun – okay, maybe they warned us about that one. Whatever the case, photography is a lot harder than it sounds, hence the plethora of apps that make it easy as pie to take a decent snap. You’re fooling no one. Without Instagram you’d be nothing. That’s why very few of us actually carry on with the ‘skills’ acquired during ‘Studio Arts’ (as some schools so pretentiously put it). Fortunately, Bonnie Hansen kept at it, and today we’re lucky enough to share some of her beautiful work. So if you too have visited a dark room post high school, then please send us an email to submissions@spookmag.com
