THE GARDEN OF JAALA

Flowers usually go down a treat on the 14th, but then they die. When they die, it’s like you never gave a gift at all. You’ll become the worst person in the world. Ever. It’s like you just don’t care, you don’t want to make the effort, you don’t even try. What you need to do is plant a garden instead. Easy done. It will last longer than a week and when it dies it will be the other person’s fault because they weren’t looking after it properly. They didn’t care, didn’t want to make the effort, didn’t even try. Huzzah! Just make sure that when you make your pretty garden beds they look as beautiful as the ones featured in Sophie Miscamble’s photos. Then ask Sophie to come over and take photos so you can remind your partner of what they killed. As you can see below, Sophie takes amazing photos, so they’ll feel really bad. WHO: Sophie Miscamble.
AGE: 21.
FROM: I was born on Magnetic Island, but have lived on the Gold Coast since I was quite young.
EXPERIENCE: I started taking photos in June last year, so I’m still a complete rookie.
JOB: I finished a graphic design course last year, and just quit my retail job for a 2 month adventure around Italy.
WHERE: New Farm Park in Brisbane.
TIME: Not very long at all! It was overcast so there wasn’t much light.
PEOPLE: Just me and my beautiful friend Jaala Alex, she did her makeup and we both styled the shoot.
CLOTHES: Mostly vintage, I think there’s a pair of American Apparel leggings in a few of the photographs.
CAMERA: A Nikon I got for Christmas a few years back, and a 50mm lens.
WHY: No purpose, we just wanted to take some pretty pictures!
FAVOURITE: I love the one of Jaala in the sky.
