INTRODUCING ROBYN TAYLOR

Published on February 23, 2012

Words: Sarah Pratt

It’s exciting to get something from overseas and it’s exciting to send something overseas, however it can get expensive sending handwritten notes and Vegemite jars to foreign lands on a regular basis. And so that’s why the internet was created. Not really, but it’s much nicer to think that it was created as a way to minimise postage costs for pen pals, rather than to make porn more accessible to the teenagers of the world. Whatever the reason, without that little handy thing called an email account, we would not be able to deliver to you Robyn Taylor’s amazing drawings today, for they come to us from a land far, far away, also known as England. If you too come from a land unknown (or even if you don’t) and have some drawings that you would like to share then send us an email to submissions@spookmag.com

NAME: Robyn Taylor.
AGE: 20.
FROM: I live in Ingleby Barwick, in the north east of England.
EXPERIENCE: I’ve loved drawing ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be an artist and couldn’t think of anything better than drawing all day.
JOB: I’ve just graduated an FDA course on contemporary textiles practice and I’m currently studying in my final year a BA Honours in Textiles and surface Design at Cleveland College of art and design. At the moment I’m a full time student, but when I graduate at the end of this year I plan to be a freelance illustrator and draw all day.
WHY: I love to draw and make things a bit more crazy, colourful and sparkly.
INSPIRATION: Kelli Smith, Nikki Pilkington, Sandra Suy and Bec Winnel are all amazing artists.
